Experimental Research On The Tones Of Xi Feng Dialect

The paper recorded central area of Xifeng speech through field research and completed the transcription by adopting the methods of Experimental Phonetics. Based on this, the paper obtained fundamental frequency data and extracted some formants data by using speech analysis software. Combining with some theoretical knowledge of Phonetics, it analyzed these parameters to do research on phonological tone of Xifeng dialect, summed up the phonological characteristics of Xifeng dialect. There were described and analyzed through two aspects, it was mono-syllable tone analysis and double-word analysis. Human geography situation in Xifeng and Experimental Phonetics research and relevant research on Xifeng dialect was described and presented in Chapter I of this paper. Chapter II carried out a detailed description of the experimental process program. Chapter III and IV respectively described analysis on phonology of Xifeng dialect. The paper collected the speech corpus and analyzed the corpus by using Audition.v1.5, Praat software of Amsterdam University and the Wavefinal software of laboratory in Peking University combined with the speech platform in our lab. By using speech platform we got the fundamental frequency and the language spectrum map of the corpus, also we used T values method to normalize the value of fundamental frequency, then converted tones to five degrees which provided a basis for the analysis of mono-syllable tone. The experiment result shows that there are 4 mono-syllable tones in Xifeng dialect which do not include soft tone. And the Yinping tone and Shangsheng in Mandarin is very close to the mono-syllable tone in Qing Yang dialect,they are 53 by show with five degrees, the words of the Falling tone is not the entire dropping but much flatting, that is 44 by show with five degrees. the words of the Yangpin tone is 34 by show with five degrees. Ancient qing initials toned words and sub-voiced initials words are high and level tone of today, ancient voiced initials toned words and Voiced initials tone words are falling-rising tone of today, In addition, a few old voiceless initial consonant of a Chinese syllables are falling tone today, Xifeng dialect have no falling tone. And through the analysis of two-syllable words tone words, we got sandhi rule of Xifeng dialect. The tone positioning mode of two-syllable words are Yinping tone +Yinping tone, Yinping tone +Yangpping tone, Yinping tone +Qusheng tone, Yangping tone +Yinping tone, Yangping tone +Yangping tone, Yangping tone +Qusheng tone, Qusheng tone +Yinping tone, Qusheng tone +Yangping tone, Qusheng tone +Qusheng tone.
