Oil Painting Strokes Research

The brush strokes in oil painting is not only a form of performance, but also with independent aesthetic value.This paper will firstly start with the concept of strokes from the canvas,and analysis to explore the development and evolution in the context of the Western painting history, pointing out that the performance of painting strokes have their own characteristics at different historical periods and different artists.Second, in the context of Chinese cultural heritage, the western oil painting system which belongs to different cultures has been constantly absorbed and integrated in the background of Chinese cultural spirit, ethnic and geographical characteristics and aesthetic psychology,then create a painting language with Chinese national characteristics,the aesthetic connotation of oil painting brush stroke is extended.Third,the aesthetic characteristics. Oil painting brush storke is the performance and broad of point, line and plane,it has the aesthetic characteristics of power,rhythm,tactile, technique,style,etc. Rich strokes manifestations, constitute the diversity of its aesthetic characteristics.Finally, we use the aesthetic psychology, arts and aesthetics, theories of Chinese painting on a multi-angle, multi-level analysis to explore the value of oil painting brush strokes, it reflects in four areas:l, brush stroke is a symbol, it is the concrete of the point, line and plane, and has the function of visual aesthetic.2,different stroke styles form the basic elements of aesthetic.3,brush strokes, is an effective means of achieving coherent rhythm.4, summary, abstract and actual situation of the brush handle to make works more aesthetic.
