Study On Shen Congwen's Novel Creation From The View Of Ecological Aesthetics

As a global issue in 21st century, ecological problems which focus on the relation between human and nature have been showed a great concern and been a focal point of the human. ecologrical esthetics emerged as the times require in the 1990s,under the oath of global issue and "human predicament" being distinguished by the crisis of natural ecology. ecologrical esthetics persue the harmony and unity between human and nature,aiming to cinstruct a home where human being can dwell poetically, through "making humanity ecological equilibrium and nature ecological equilibrium a benign interlinkage".Shen Congwen, who enquires good reputation as a nature man, examined country and city through the unique villager's stand. and constructed two worlds to seek human nature, and think deeply about human and nature, It shows his human ultimate concern and ecologic awareness of unexpected development. Specically in his XiangXi's novels, his "harmony between Human and Nature" is reflection of "returning to nature".Though he didn't put forward definitely systematic perspective of ecological aesthetics in his life, we can find harmonious and miraculous nature that he described contains unique ecologic meaning and wisdom, when we use the modern ecology's theory to study his novels. And we can find that he pursues ecological beauty of harmony between Human and Nature, and inherits ecological thought of nature and man in one" in traditional culture. So it contains precious ecological resources in Shen Congwen's novels. In a sense, in the present of advocating harmonious between human and nature and environmental protection, it has definite realistic significance.In my thesis,I criticize Shen Congwen's novels from the vision of ecological esthetics. I will study and illustrate Shen Congwen's thought and writing integrally systematically in dipth, so then unearth literary merit and significance in his works.My thesis includes five parts, the first part investigates the background and reason of his ecological aesthetics, This part includes the proceeding of three aspects: primarily experience from human life, the affect of Chu culture and the nurture of literature of taoist. The second part interprets the intension of ecological aesthetics in Shen Congwen's writings from three aspects of "God videlicet namely nature,beauty in the life and naturalized human nature". The third and fourth parts discuss ecological aesthetics which be reflected in Shen Congwen's writings, this part includes harmonious natural ecology and healthy humanity ecology. The fifth part discusses the literary merit and radioactive significance of ecological aesthetics in Shen Congwen's writings, and revaluates it reasonably.
