A Study Of Shen Congwen 's Works From The Ecological Perspective

This article is based on the perspective of ecological criticism.It studies and expounds Shen Congwen’s works.The formation of Shen Congwen’s ecological consciousness is based on the ecological holism.It mainly reflects in three aspects: The influence of Zhuang Zi’s philosophy, the return of his spirit when departing from hometown,the worship and propagation of the value of life.According to Shen Congwen’s ecological thoughts, we can find that there exists both a praise of the country’s green ecology and a criticism of the urban’s black ecology in his works.The former pays attention to the beauty revealed, which mainly refers to the beauty of the natural scenery,the beautiful harmony of human and nature, and the beauty of humanity in his works.The later pays attention to the exposure of the ugly side, which mainly relates to the essence of ugly humanity and ugly social roots.When explaining Green ecology in Shen Congwen’s works, The concept of ecological image is brought in.which refers to the literature images having features of ecological aesthetic,ecological ideal,ecologcial criticism and so on.And it proves the beauty of ecological images in Shen Congwen’s works in three following aspects:the image of landscape and flora and fauna,folk customs and the character image. When explaining the black ecological literature.entering with a angle of the query and criticism of urban civilization/taking people as the center illustrates the criticism of the rotten character, which mainly displays in four aspects:lonely soul,selfish statements and actions,mercenary and ignorant methods.Taking event as the center illustrates his criticism of the hideous society,which mainly displays in four aspects:the chaotic dispute of officers and volks,the anxious situation of education.the apparent transaction of money and woman’s beauty and dark political event. At last,through the analysis and research of the rigorous ecological angle,reveals that Shen Congwen basing on the inheritance of the pith of traditional culture and the extension of belles-lettres,spares his efforts to reconstruct the social moral values.
