The Average Structure Complexity Based On On-line Chunking In Chinese And English

In order to calculate and anlygize the average structure complexity with on-line chunking in Chinese and English, this thesis first improves some calculation methods used in the previous studies, and then assorts, calculates and anlygizes a large ammount of data of translation between the two languages, both in spoken and written styles. It reaches some conclusions such as why sometime there is a huge complexity discrepancy in the translation and how to reduce the average structure complexity in translations between the two languages. The analyses will be of practical help in the translation between the two languages. The thesis is the first one in systematically anlygizing in large amount the average structure complexity based on on-line chunking in Chinese and English.
