In the 21st century, intercultural communication is frequent day by day. As an important type of cultural transmission, documentary becomes an industry which has strong commercial value and cultural value. Chinese culture, which is extensive and profound, and has a long history, attract international commercial TV organization. Most of them make documentary with chinese TV organization export to other countries. In the process of making documentary, the foreign TV organization couldn't abandon their own culture. They describe chinese culture by their own cultural viewing angle, so the documentaries show up the cultural difference obviously or veiledly.This paper uses the Forbidden City produced by Sino-US cooperation and the New Silkroad by Sino-Japan cooperation as the research object. I use Fantasy Theme Analysis and comparison methods, striving for the cultural difference shown up between the type of the documentaries which has the same theme but different makers have a rough grasp.In structure, the first chapter is the introduction. The secondly is the significance of some of the basic definitions. The third and forth chapters are the emphasis of the paper. I use Fantasy Theme Analysis to analyse the research object, and explain the influence of the documentaries content and form by different culture. The last chapter focuses on the potential problems of cultural transmission, and the methods that can reduce the cultural difference.
