Xia Song, a famous and controversial politician at the early Part of Northern Song Dynasty, was well-known for Pianwen (also known as four-six) in the literary circles, even someone consider his Prose assembles the characteristics of Pianwen in the early. Being pleased to learn, he has wide learning and treat his job earnestly, he is good at catering to the emperor's mind and eager to obtain the emperor's appointment. Therefore, he is considered as a treacherous and unscrupulous politician. It is exactly because of this, few of people study his work, even though he is famous for four-six.In this article, Xia Song's biography has been combed and the curriculum vitae in his life also has been documented, in order to show a full image which is not biased in the Northern Song scholar-officials. On the basis of his vicissitudes of official life, this paper focuses on exploring the deep-seated reasons behind the "treacherous", it is worth mentioning that this study contact with the social context especially the North-South party struggle. Meanwhile, Xia Song is famous for forty-six, many court documents are written by him, because of his notoriousness, the characteristics of his Pianwen is rarely mentioned. Therefore, based on classifying his Pianwen, this paper focus on the artistic features such as rhetorical, rushing and energetic.
