Cheongsam, the representative of national dress and the paragon of suit-dress, lays it's special status in the Chinese Traditional Culture since it emerges. Cheongsam, as a charming cultural sign, is a symbol of taste and fashion with rich cultural connotation and heritage. Through the glamor it exudes, what we see is the vigor of zeal and high-spirited, manifesting the culture's strong tolerance and attraction. Jewelry, perhaps the most ancient works of art in the world, responds human's demand for the beauty in life. From its birth date, it has been accompanied with human's development and is the testimony of civilization history. As the science, technology and culture's development, jewelry also has a huge shift in it's function and connotation. With the economy and people's living standards'constant improvement, the jewelry's icoration is becoming more and more outstanding and the connectin with the colthing is becoming more and more closer. All of these days, jewelry designer and fashion designers are trying to find the perfect combination of jewelry and clothing.This thesis will analyze two relatively independent entity -- jewelry and cheongsam's conjunction, and then discuss the cheongsam elements'application in jewelry design, with the purpose of arousing the designers to pay more attention to Chinse elements and Chinese profound resplendent culture. From the occean of Chinese profound resplendent culture, designers look for the inspiration, draw the design elements,and then creat more artistic jewel which have Chinese national styles.Whether advancing "China creates" jewelry's international influence or highlighting China five millennium cultures has very important practical significance.Massive pictures are quoted during this article, the first part is introduction; The second introduces the definition of Costume-Styled Accessories;The third part tells the origin of cheongsam, development and characteristics of its shape objectively, reaching the purpose of knowing the cheongsam totally; The fourth part from a microscopic point of view, examines the combination of dress and jewelry through analysing each part of the dress; The fifth part from the shape, pattern, color,respectively, analyzes the application of cheongsam elements in modern jewelry design actualiy; The sixth part makes cheongsam's aesthetic spirit as the starting point, demonstrating the inheritance of cheongsam's aesthetic spirit in modern jewelry design; The seventh part is the conclusion,containing the summary about the cheongsam elements in the use of modern jewelry design and the practical significance that the subject carries on.
