As the most outstanding classical Chinese short stories corpus,Liaozhaizhiyi'achievements is not only reflected in the literature value,but also in the abundant cultural connotation contained in the works. In recent years,the cultural researches on ancient novels became the hot pints in educational circles under the influence of"culture heat";but with respect to the full-length zhanghui novels such as The Three Kingdoms and A Dream in Red Mansions,Liaozhaizhiyi is still a uncultivated virgin land. In view of this, I choose the"Spirits Culture"as a entry point, and place Liaozhaizhiyi on the background of culture, try to dig the spirits cultural connotation of this works deeply by means of crossover study between text and culture,at the same time,I want to peep one spot and know the whole sceneries and deepen the comprehension of Liaozhaizhiyi'cultural connotation.This thesis is divided into five parts.Part1:"Pu Songling and Spirits".There is a tradition of"ZhiRenLunShi"in China,so,it is necessary to study the relationship between pu Songling and spirits before the discussion of Spirits Culture of Liaozhaizhiyi.This part mainly discusses the important role that spirits played in Pu Songling ' life, Pu Songling' attitude towards spirits,and the influence on the creation process of Liaozhaizhiyi by spirits.Part2:"the Name and Description Culture of Spirits in Liaozhaizhiyi".This part mainly discusses the name and the vessels of spirits in the fiction,including the textual research of umbrella name, alternative name and the category of spirits,the description of the drinking vessels,the containing vessels and the unique vessels appearring in the fiction.Part3:"the Custom Culture of Spirits in Liaozhaizhiyi".Liaozhaizhiyi shows plenties vivid Custom pictures in catering. This part respectively discusses the catering, wine courtesy, wine officer and JiuLing, carrizo drink, spirits and festivals, spirits and happiness, spirits and sacrifice and so on. Part4:"the Literature Value of Spirits description in Liaozhaizhiyi".This part bases on the novel three elements,and respectively discusses the spirits description ' effections on characterization, plot performance and environment description.In the same time, This part discusses the spirits description ' effection on works structure combined with the theory of Novel Narrative.Part5:"the Spirit Connotation of the Spirits Culture of Liaozhaizhiyi". This part mainly discusses the Spirits moral affected by Confucianism,and discusses the interactive-responds between Spirits and literati' heart.It consists of four parts:the contacts between literati and women,the fits in literati, escaping from secular and liberation from anguish, return to natural and pursuiting of pure.Generally speaking,just as a aspect of the works' cultural connotation,the spirits culture of Liaozhaizhiyi is great and profound.This article tries to discuss comprehensively about it,but as the author' limited ability,there are some shortages.I hope this article will serve as a modest spur to induce scholars to come forward with their valuable contributions to the research of the spirits culture of Liaozhaizhiyi,and make some beneficial explorations to the research of ancient novels from the angle of culture.
