The Interpretation Of Growth In Cao Wenxuan's Novel

Cao Wenxuan as a creation writer who firstly proposed the concept of "Growth Novel" and "Growth Literature" has attracted widely attention from the literary world in China. He mostly choose juvenile as the hero in his novel, which describes both the body and the soul in the procession of their growth. It also provides the model growth for readers at the same time.The purpose of this paper is to illustrate the concept of growth in Cao Wenxuan's novel, to reveal the individual direction in juvenile growth, to seek the meaning and the value of growth in Cao Wenxuan's work.The thesis is divided into the following sections:in the part of the introduction, the author defines the concept of "Growth Novel", summarize the current research situation of Cao Wenxuan, and also express the basic idea of this paper.In the first chapter, the author investigates the individual direction of "Growth", to return babies' mode as the ideal direction. Pastoral provides the space which helps them complete the process of growth. Female is an object during the process of their growth. The perfect personality is the ultimate goal in growth. In the second chapter, the author analysis the specific mode of growth in Cao Wenxuan's works, either the wandering of the mind and the body, the suffering of life or daily growth which hold the isomeric relationship under the same nature in the growth. In chapter three, the author traces the origin of modern literature of Cao Wenxuan's work, his literature view inherited the idea of enlightenment of Lu Xun,and his literature style associated with the same strain as Shen Chongwen and Fei Ming on behalf of "Jing School". The author also investigates the whole style of Cao's work from the aspect of solemn narration and Poetic language.In chapter four, the author investigate the value both in education and artistic of Cao Wenxuan's growth motif, and also point out the existing inadequacies in his work. The conclusion part is a summary of the full text, which surly points out the meaning and the value creation of Cao Wenxuan.
