Systemic Functional Grammar is established after years of efforts of many functional linguists. Different from theories proposed by other linguistic schools, the Systemic Functional Grammar emphasizes the function of language, and focuses on the practical application and the function of language. Nowadays, Systemic Functional Grammar gets more and more attentions of linguists in linguistic field in analyzing discourse.It is believed convincingly that Obama's speech skills play an irreplaceable role in the success of presidential election. His eloquence contributes to his success in presidential election. Then Obama becomes the first black president in American history. Nowadays, Obama' speeches are favored by English learners all over the world and receive more attention from the researchers in the world.Formerly, most analyses of discourses mainly study Obama's inaugural speech from the perspective of functional stylistics. However, this paper studies Obama's victory speech from the angle of functional stylistics, and demonstrates the reasons why this speech is so heart-shaking and successful.This paper researches the appropriate choice of language in aspects of lexical-semantic grammar by employing three Metafunctions of Systemic Functional Grammar-experiential function, interpersonal function and textual function.In this paper, the six processes in the victory speech are analyzed and the functions of each process are studied to test how the experiential function works; the analysis of mood and modality system is conducted to test the interpersonal function of the speech. It demonstrates the speaker's viewpoints and attitudes how the speaker touches the hearts of the audience and reaches echo among the listeners and the listeners are willing to take action based on the speakers' intention; based on the analysis of Marked Theme and Unmarked Theme, it is known reasons why the speaker emphasizes some elements as Marked Theme and Unmarked Theme and their corresponding functions...
