Holding a unique place in the Chinese Classics as Chinese traditional beverage, tea plays a momentous part in mapping Chinese culture. Therefore, the description of "tea-relevant acts" in Chinese classics could in turn reflect translators'different styles.Based on the previous studies of style as well as the statements on translator's style throughout history, the thesis searched into tea-relevant acts in the two representative versions of Hong Lou Meng translated by David Hawkes & John Minford and Yang Xianyi & Glays Yang, making a tentative effort to map translator's style and investigating influencing factors of translator's style. With the establishment of a corpus for translation of Hong Lou Meng and the design of parameters and variables in the corpus, the research is expected to have a sound foundation and scientific and accurate analysis.Reviewed the emergence and the development of style and translator's style, the thesis calculated tea-relevant acts in Hong Lou Meng and its two versions, summarized the characteristics of translator's style and influencing factors of translator's style. The result demonstrates that David Hawkes & John Minford's style is more detailed while Yang Xianyi & Gladys Yang's style is more concise.The three influencing factors are also identified as:translator's cultural identification, translator's thinking mode, and translation strategy they adopted.From the methodological perspective, the thesis summarized act performer, act intermediate, and act recipient, classifying them into four main aspects of, hospitality tea act, judging-time tea act, social-manner tea act and leisure tea act and other tea relevant acts to map translator's style. Through investigations on all these, the thesis succeeded in confirming the translator's styles and pinpointing a few essential factors influencing their styles. Hopefully, this could help to provide a new angle of view to make research on translator's style. Moreover, the thesis wishes that with analysis of tea culture in Hong Lou Meng the translation of tea relevant acts receive greater priority in the Chinese Classics Translation...
