The Research On Color Words In Idioms

Color words is an important part of vocabulary, it is with human production and life are closely related. In the words of many colors, some color words are fleeting , and submerged in the course of history, and some color words withstood years of baptism, in use ever since, passing thousands of years of civilization of China, linking the ancient and modern Chinese, and maintained in modern Chinese vitality.This study mainly focused on modern Chinese still have strong vitality of the idiom, determine the scope and extent of the main《Chinese Idioms Dictionary》(Xinhua Press, 2003 edition) and《Xinhua Dictionary of Idioms》(Commercial Press, 2005) Idioms received target. We selected this book to all with two color words idioms, inspected and sorted at its basis, try to vocabulary, psychology, linguistics and cultural angles through statistical analysis, comparison, induction, analysis, a comprehensive and systematic analysis, so that people of color words idioms expressive characteristics and cultural connotations of a comprehensive system of understanding, and life in the proper use of social language.Through research, we conclude that the emergence of color words in idioms characteristic of development and change, and cultural connotations. Through understanding the meaning of color words, can further a better understanding of the meaning of idioms to explore the relationship between the two. In practical application, one can gain a deeper understanding of modern Chinese cultural idiom meaning, understanding and mastering the spiritual wealth of our ancestors left; 2 allows foreigners to learn Chinese from a cultural perspective to better understand China and Chinese culture in communication and flexible use of idioms appropriate color words.This article is divided into three parts:The first part is reviewed to introduce domestic and international research on color terms and the object of this paper, methods and significance.The second part of the color words from the phrase set, where the idiom of Statistics in the basic color terms in the number of color words in the idiom of the ideographic characteristics and cultural connotations. From the diachronic point of view of social and cultural change on the cultural meaning of color words.The third part concludes the phrase in the emergence of basic color terms in the characteristics and cultural connotations, and proposes the significance and shortcomings of this study.
