Exploration On The Conception Of Society And History Of Russell

Before the 19th century, generally speaking, Western philosophy of history was speculation, but during the 20th century, it transferred to the way of analysis gradually. It is hard to say what Russell'social history outlook belongs to, speculative philosophy of history or analysis philosophy of history? His understanding of history is a view that was drawn from his understanding of humanity. What he understood is a basic common view which does not form a theory system and at most is the reflection of history. In the end, he got his unique philosophy of history namely reflective philosophy of historyIn this article, his rethinking will be discussed in the following aspects: Nonscientific and artistic of science of history. Russell thought science of history is nonscientific, and what it attracts people is its artistry. So he drew a completely new visual judgment, Human Study. Russell valued the individuals of the society and respected the personal value,thought genius is the main motivation of the social development and what affects on people is his psychological motivation,and he took psychology into the field of history study; Social power theory. In his opinion, the reason of the social developments is due to the impulses and wishes of people ,all activities of people are caused by impulses and wishes, and only the harmonious of impulse and wish can promote the healthy social development; War outlook. A war is the source of social disastrous. Because of impulse a war broke out, and the way to get rid of wars is to teach and build a world government; At last, the paper focus on the influence of Russell's social history outlook on modern society. By studying Russell's social history outlook, we can understand non Marxists'views and outlooks on the history development better. The history outlook took an important place in Russell's thoughts system. This article analyses Russell's history outlook according to Marxism materialistic conception of history. In a word, Russell'conception of history is ideal conception of history.
