Study Of Chen Shidao's Prose

Chen Shidao is a famous poetry in Northern Song dynasty.He is achieved in poem lyric, prose and the highest rating is in prose.He is also known as one of the Poem School of Jiangxi"Yi Zu San Zong". His prose is valuable,which has been praised by Zeng Gong, Su Shi and others. In recent years,as the " Poem School of Jiangxi" warming research, academia is more dedicated to the discussion of his poetry writing, however,having neglected the study of his prose. Meanwhile, the literary history has little attention to the prose of the "six-degree Su", including Chen Shidao's, artistic achievement, which is rarely involved.Combined with the life experience and the attitude towards life of Chen Shidao, This paper divides his prose into three parts to research, attempting to grasp the overall style of them. Full summarized as follows:The first chapter, Chen Shidao's life experiences and the attitude towards life. In his whole life,Chen Shidao abandoned the new school,stopped the examination, Studied under Zeng Gong, saw Su Shi, learned from Huang Tingjian.He made official for nine years, and nothing good, only good at literature. He has a noble quality and keeps ethical and happy in poor.The second chapter, the narrative prose of writing scenery and recording people. The powerful and brief words,with the overlooking perspective and the dangerous image,express the endless meaning.The preface is informal, with legend of the way writing people and narrative,appearing a word "feeling" and whole state. The biographies have no kitsch,and don't against one's will. He uses the documentary approach of historians and the standards of review come from the Orthodox Confucian thinking. although they don't deliberately copy,the characters are lifelike.In contrast, they are all lively biography articles.The third chapter, argumentative essays in concerning current events. The argumentative essays concerne about things, having unique insights in political and military.They derectly state the shortcoming of society, starting from the historical data or current events, not to talk vaguely. The demonstrate techniques are flexible. Love and hate of others is clear, mapping the current situation. His literature involes poem,lyric,prose, and has great value.The fourth chapter, the application essays of Communication entertainment. In them,the letters are rich and their forms are different. Their "most emotional,most humane and most pure"lead to the highest achievement. And other genres reflect his faith in Buddhism.The fifth chapter, art features. Chen Shidao wrote prose influnced by Zeng Gong greatly,but still had innovation. His articles have simple words,strict syntax and the new style.All that make his prose "concise and rigorous",and praised by other people.
