| Chen Shidao was a famous poet, essayist, and Ci's critic in the Song Dynasty, meanwhile he wrote about 50 Ci, and he was very proud of his Ci, he thought his Ci was as good as Qi Guan and Huang Tingjian. Judging from the Ci's history, although Chen Shidao Ci's research was rare and his Ci's influence was few. But his judgment about his Ci and his Ci caused a debate, which was not very big, but lasted for a long time, and the related opinion disputed against each other. Obviously it's still a unsolved Chinese Literature History issue up to now. My essay by analyzing the debate and research about Chen Shidao Ci, reading Chen Shidao Ci thoroughly and exploring new materials found the unsolved problems, put questions to it and solved those questions. My essay solved this Chines Literature History issue about Chen Shidao Ci.This essay put a deep and thorough perspective into Chen Shidao Ci, My essay believed there was a strong relationship between Chen Shidao Ci and the composing background of Shi and Ci in North Song Dynasty, Chen Shidao Ci's theory and creation like the background was in chaos. Chen Shidao joined Zunti Style and Yishiweici Style by his Ci's theory and creation. Those opinion which judged his as only a Yishiweici Style Ci writer or only a Zunti Ci writer was wrong. The Zunti style Ci Creation of Chen Shidao was in Zunti's fashion, and beautifully written, it showed Chen Shidao's creativity and another kind of literature talent. The Yishiweici style Ci was composed in 20 years, it joined the Sumenchanghe, recording Chen Shidao's thoughts in the ups and downs with the Sumen Literature group, and it recorded Chen Shidao's other thoughts as while. Those Yishiweici Style Ci has a close strong relationship with the Qiyan Lvshi, Wuyan and Qiyan Jueju, some Wuyan and Qiyan Gushi, and it showed Chen Shidao's way of living. Righteously speaking, Chen Shidao's Zunti style Ci and Yishiweici style Ci was as outstanding as Qi Guan and Huang Tingjian in many ways. Chen Shidao's arrogance was built on the strong foundation, his action was out of a rightful desire to be known and a lot of difficulties forced his to do so.Chen Shidao Ci creation was real and outstanding, treating his Ci with indifference was wrong and not fair.This essay also analysed the reason why Chen shidao Ci's research and influence was rare and few. I thought this has to do with the following reasons: 1, Chen Shidao was far away form the Song Ci's creative environment, it caused him has almost no reputation at all directly. 2, The amount of Chen Shidao Ci works was few, and not the highest cream in his times, thus it's hard for him to be unique and it's easy to be stolen the show by others. 3, Chen Shidao's temperament was peace and quiet, thus his Ci works seems to be less infective compared with others. 4, It has something to do with the decline of Chen Shidao's status in Chinese Literature History, and it also has something to do with some critics prejudices as well. |
