The relationship between ethics and knowledge is an old and eternal question. This question stood out due to cultural conflict in China and western society in late 19th early 20th century. Then, people often thought that Chinese culture valued morality, while western culture appreciated knowledge. This argument on cultural dimension evolved how to deal with the relationship between ethics and knowledge on philosophical dimension. At that moment, major philosophers fundamentally concerned this question, for example, Jin Yuelin and Feng Qi, etc.Meanwhile, Zhang Junmai also put forward his viewpoint about ethics and knowledge, which is an important component of his ideological system. Zhang Junmai discussed ethics and knowledge from various angles, and his ideas were changing. At first, he thought that sciences and views on life were opposite, and he more valued ethics. But after 20-30s, he came up with that ethics and knowledge is equally important. This change reflected Zhang Junmai had trended from schism to fusion. But undeniably, Zhan Junmai persisted moral Centrism. Essentially, equality of ethics and knowledge was that knowledge must be built on the basis of ethics.This paper first hackles Zhang Junmai's viewpoints about ethics and knowledge. On the basis of this, I analyzed Zhang Junmai's idea transition. In short, through this paper, we will be more clearer to Zhang Junmai's ideas.
