Research On The Relationship Of Family Ethics In Zhang Yang’s Movies

In more than one hundred years of Chinese film’s history, the movies which express the relationship of family ethics have been occupying an important position. In twentieth century, China has experienced a transformation from traditional society to modern society. And the relationship of family ethics is converting to modern ethics.This condition is also reflected in movies of some young film directors in recent years. Zhang Yang, a successful director in the late 1990s, he has directed a lot of movies such as Spicy Love Soup, Shower, Quitting, Sunflower, Going Home, Driverless and Full Circle. These movies not only received many awards, but also gained a lot of profits. In order to find the uniqueness of the family ethics in Zhang Yang’s movies, this paper not only uses the literature research to understand the ethics knowledge and the previous research on Zhang Yang’s film, but also uses case analysis method to study the specific films.This paper is divided into four parts. Part I:the father-son relationship is divided into three types:the barrier and the understanding, the conflict and the fusion, the alienation and reconciliation. Part Ⅱ:the husband-wife relationship is divided into two parts:the harmonious relationship and the anxious relationship. Part :the relationship between brothers. And all this three parts are combined with the specific film analysis. Part IV:To find the cause of Zhang Yang’s unique expression of home ethics from the origin of Zhang Yang’s personal growth experience and the culture influence. The study found that, Zhang Yang expresses the relationship of family ethics in a more mature attitude:the modern relationship of family ethics which is based on full respect of everyone, goes from the conflict to compromise.
