On The Creative Consciousness In Sketching

In the field of painting, sketching, one of the important ways of painting, is the foundation of artists'creation both in china and the West. In the history of art, it always influences the development of art. So the importance of sketching is self-evident in the history of art and the modern art. "the division good fortune, the source in the heart" is the ancient Chinese artists'understanding of sketching. In the history of western art, artists, with creative spirit, researched perspektivsleher, anatomy and optics to reproduce nature. Though it seems that the sketching ways and techniques are different in Chinese and Western classical paintings, sketching is the necessary step of the creation of artistic painting. The expressing of self-consciousness in the sketching is the common thing in Chinese and Western arts, especially in the modern oil-painting. Sketching is not only the initial step but also one part of the artistic creation. So the philosophical significance, the expression of feelings and the art individuality have become an integral part of the sketching works.This thesis analyzes the creative consciousness from the following aspects:the concept of sketching, the relationship between sketching and the artistic creation, the philosophical meanings of artistic creation, the feeling experience in sketching, the painting style and the expressing of individual language of sketching. What's more, the thesis makes an especial study of the concept and the significance of "unconsciousness" and the position of it in the sketching creation. Accordingly the significance of the transformation from the painting language to the artistic representation is to be analyzed.Chapter One and Chapter Two touch on the origin and the concept of sketching. Then it is concluded that sketching is the necessary step for artists to taste, observe, conclude and represent nature, to explore and exhibit the inherent laws of things and to cultivate a good visual experience and a refined taste in art. And sketching is also a test land for artists' individualized painting language. Both the inspiration and the emotions can be well expressed in sketching, which is the special way to illuminate the consciousness of creation.Chapter Three makes a theoretical analysis of the concept and the practice of sketching. The conclusion is that the artistic creation is the embodiment of an artist's comprehensive qualities. It can reflect his artistic taste, his cultural cultivation and his painting style and language. An artist should explore the creative rules by observing and experiencing the life firsthand to achieve the philosophical significance. Painting is a reflection and reification of the artists'observation, experience and taste of the social life with the material medium and artistic techniques. The creation in the sketching is the combination of "consciousness" and "unconsciousness", both of which are the parts of the procedure of the experiencing, understanding, combining and forming the objects.Chapter Four and Chapter Five respectively analyzes the roles and the reflection of emotions, painting styles and individual languages in the sketching. It is concluded that the creative individuality is the peculiar representation of the creation consciousness and the artistic emotion is the integral elements of sketching.Above all, sketching, which includes classifying, inducing, concluding and analyzing the objects, is the process of producing emotions, expressing emotions and emotion "unconsciousness", the process of experiencing, observing, inducing and representing nature with artists acute observation ability and the process of exploring the inherent rules of it and cultivating the good visual experience and refined taste in art. In sketching, all of artists'style, individual painting language, inspiration and emotions are more of less reflected in the works in different ways on various levels. And this is just the special way of the consciousness of the artistic creation.The thesis expects to make a contribution to the theory of the contemporary art of painting and build a bridge for other researchers to make more valuable academic researches.
