As precious heritage of Tibetan folk culture, the heroic epic "King Gesar" is not only voluminous and rich in content, but successfully shaped a series of vivid, distinct personality of Character. Owing to her transformation of role orientation from evil to kindness, the Addalam as one of Gesar's concubine, whose personality or image distinguished her from other concubines. Such transformation serves as a turning point to shape her dual role, a standard to determine her special status and character, and also a stage to demonstrate her unique image. As the starting point of this paper, analysis on character of Addalam attempts to excavate and elaborate particular significance of such character in the epic king Gesar and the legacy of Tibetan life.This article includes introduction, body and conclusion.Part I: Introduction. This part probes into the significance of the character Addalam in terms of research status and meaning of choosing the topic at home and abroad.Part II: the body, including three chapters. The first chapter described environment of society and family, where shaped character of Addalam, and then proceeded to introduce her clan and her name's origin and significance; the second chapter was the core of this article. In terms of external image and internal character of Addalam and a comparative study of Addalam with other concubine, this chapter explored characteristics of Addalam's character; the third chapter presented influence of Addalam on the structure and development of King Gesar and legacy of Tibetan life for generations.Part III: Conclusion. This part summarized views presented in last three characters.
