Based on the constructivism theory, the present thesis makes an empirical study of the constructivism-based model training of English majors'writing. The author first hypothesizes a constructivism–based model, and then applies the model to English writing class in order to verify the applicability of the model. The central question of the study is whether the training can improve the students'writing ability or not.Based on the analyses of the data, the author found that the constructivism-based model is effective in improving the college students'writing ability. It can enhance the students'motivation and cultivate their interest in English learning. To some degree, the present study supplies a theoretical guidance to teaching English majors'writing. At the same time, it may offer the students a better way to improve their English writing ability.
