| The American historian is the pioneer in the environmental history studies, which is also a new subject that has been recently demonstrated in history. In this paper, with the purpose of appealing for harmonious relationship between human being and nature,I attempts to analyze excellent paragons, significative writings and outstanding values and explain the evolution of values in the studies of environmental history in the USA, by the way of cross- subjects. This paper presents the characteristics of analyzing the process of American historian'evolution in values by the way of reading the writings of the in large numbers.This paper includes five parts. The first one, the Introduction, will show researching actuality of this item involved. Following that, the second one, the Origin and Achievements of Environmental History Studies in the USA, will introduces the history's theoretical innovation, development of the old history, interdisciplinary application of the theory (also called cross-disciplinary), the global perspective constitute the theoretical basis of environmental history studies, and its achievements in three phases.The third part, the Transformation from the Conservationism to the Preservationist, will introduces the values of the American historians has taken a transformation from the conservationism to the preservationist under natural disasters, and offer the theoretical supports for the environmentalism. In the next part, the Transformation from the Anthropocentrism to the Ecological Holism, will show the values of The Land Ethics by Aldo Leopold, The Silent Spring by Rachel Carson and the ecology has accelerated the transformation from the anthropocentrism to the ecological holism and its meanings. The last one, the Current of the Environmental History Studies, will show the environmental justice movement and urban environmental history, and discuss the enlargement of environmental history studies hopefully.
