Health care is high-pressure and high tired. To assess health care providers'mental health and provide effective reference for their mental health education, it's necessary to study compassion fatigue's impact on health care providers. In this study, initial test questionnaire for this problem is prepared through literature review, interviews, open-ended questionnaires and other methods. After that,350 health care workers were surveyed, and 283 valid questionnaires are withdrawn. After analyzing the possible factors and repeatedly revising the initial test questionnaire, a formal scale formed.800 health care workers were surveyed with this formal scale, and 658 valid questionnaires were withdrawn. Through confirmatory factor analysis and others, the scale is examined with multi-perspective and multi-indicators. Result of the study is shown as:(1) The compassion fatigue scale designed myself is reliable and valid. Through factor analyzing, compassion fatigue has six dimensions-mental stress, loss of passion, negative behavior, apathy, doubt of ability and loss of fighting will.(2) Overview of health care workers' compassion fatigue. The total average score of compassion fatigue(5 is the highest) is 2.80, which indicates that health care workers is at the middle level.(3) Study on the difference of health care workers' compassion fatigue. There are significant differences in different age, gender, department and location of the hospital. There are age difference in loss of passion and mental stress, gender difference in doubt of ability and loss of fighting will. Different departments will greatly impact on the mental stress, and different hospitals will greatly impact on loss of fighting will.(4) Relationship between compassion fatigue and job satisfaction for health care workers. Total scale of compassion fatigue and others for them is closely linked to three dimensions-relationship, benefit and professional development in job satisfaction. Relationship has a negative predictive power for compassion fatigue. Professional development and benefit has a positive predictive power for compassion fatigue.
