| Yan Geling is a contemporary leading writer of overseas Chinese writers. Many years of hard working afforded her lots of excellent novels. Researchers home and abroad gradually gave their attentions to her novels, and wrote a significant number of papers and dissertations. The present researches mainly focused on the angle of female/maternal and ethnic/immigrant/humble guys basing on Yan Geling's novels. Such researches only related to a few famous articles of Yan Geling, and can't draw overall conclusions.By reading all her novels, I find that Yan Geling has a special aesthetic trend:escaping the routine. She always choose unusual subjects, use unusual pragmatic principle, in order to make her novels special and excellent. In the pursuit of unusual aesthetic trend, Yan Geling can easily observe human nature in extreme situations, and explore the representation forms of human nature in extreme circumstances Therefore, we can better understand the writing purposes of Yan Geling.I organized my dissertation with "escaping the routine" as the cutting-in point. My dissertation mainly consists four chapters. In chapter, I mainly discuss the life period of Yan Geling and assort her novels, similar to "authur's biography". I would like to demonstrate that the author's life experience,her personality and her characteristics have a great affect on the birth of her unusual aesthetic trend.In chapterâ…¡, I analyze that Yan Geling has a special preference for unusual subjects. The unusual subjects often give her "excitement". In chapterâ…¢, I analyze that Yan Geling has a special principle of unusual pragmatics. She prefers to renovate or reconstruct the concept of words, and put the antonymy in the same sentence, which absolutely make special affects. These two chapters analyze Yan Geling's unusual aesthetic trend both from external factors and internal factors. In the last chapter,I analyzes the limitations of Yan Geling's novels caused by her unusual aesthetic trend.
