Tso Chuan focuses on the conflict and opposition between new political strength and the old during the Spring and Autumn history, and make an exposition to the social reform trend. During this period, Jin Hegemony is the most significant phenomenon. As a result, the Bureaucratic Group, which is the greatest political power in Jin, plays a leading role in the social reform trend. The central theme of this text surrounds Tso Chuan, building up from materials on a time characterized by incessant demand for hegemony shift, and makes a profound study on the different dimensions of Jin's Bureaucratic Group, which includes the development and perish of Jin's Bureaucratic Group as well as the reasons behind them, and the relationship between Jin Hegemony and Jin's Bureaucratic Group. Based on these foundations, the text makes a further exploration on Tso Chuan's contradictive judgements towards Jin's Bureaucratic Group. On the one hand, Jin's Bureaucratic Group put the old morality into practice. On the other hand, they put an end to the old morality in order to pursue their own interest. They destroy a laggard age, but they also demolish the noble morality in that time. They follow the social reform trend at the price of sacrificing the old morality.
