At the beginning of 20th century, Chinese women's liberation movement was proposed in the historical background of overthrowing the feudal autocracy, as one part of national salvation. However, it did not have a feminist movement as a premise. Besides, Chinese women's liberation movement was initiated by the male firstly who played an enlightening role in the movement, so the relationship of man and woman was not an irreconcilable conflict, but friendly. It made the Chinese women liberation movement with an innate deficiency: dependent. The female did not form their own discourse, so they can't give their words authority by themselves. Ding Ling occupies an irreplaceable position in the Chinese feminist literature. She has an obvious feminine consciousness and tries to obtain a position in mainstream ideology dominated by the male. The consciousness runs through most of her novels. However, the absence of feminist discourse leads to her mental lost at last. There is no feminine consciousness and female features left on the figure Du Wanxiang, who is one of the female images in her later novels. The silence in her "speech" of the feminist discourse just likes the "aphasia" in the medical science. Finally, the female in her novels return to the silent state again. The thesis is composed by five chapters. The preface mainly studies the characteristics of Chinese women liberation movement and the feminine consciousness of Ding Ling's novels. The female images and the plot mode of her novels are discussed in the first chapter. The female images in Ding Ling's novels mostly are dissidents, who cannot be understood by few people. It often appears "Run-away" or "escaping" plot mode in her novels. Underlying the kind of incomplete narrative, it is supposed to be the intention of the writer, which is the solution of the dilemma of women survival and female discourse. The second chapter mainly talks about the narrative strategies Ding Ling chooses in different historical contexts, so that her feminine consciousness can be accepted by the readers. In the third chapter, the female self-identity construction in Ding Ling's novels will be discussed. Ding Ling constructs the sisterhood Utopia and the love Utopia to fill the blank of the female meaning, but it proves to be ineffective. Finally, Ding Ling uses the meaning of the nation-state revolution to define the female value, but it lead to a unexpected result. The female lost the core feature to be called a woman at last. The "speech" of "aphasia" phenomenon in Ding Ling's novels is not only due to Ding Ling's personal qualities, but also because of the innate deficiency of Chinese women's liberation movement, which is the underlying and fundamental reason. To obtain the equal position with the male, the female have to construct their own feminist discourse. Striving for women's value, Ding Ling's novels have offered a typical case of Chinese women's liberation movement.
