Study On Children's Literature And Children's Image In The Hexi Baojuan

First, this thesis did a simple summary of ancient Chinese children's literature and clearly outlined the research of ancient status of children's literature in China. These were based on defining the children's literature, searching on the birth time of it, exploring ancient Chinese value on children and classifying children's literature in ancient China.Second, by explaining that there are rich sources of children's literature in the Hexi Baojuan, a kind of ancient and religious pop art which is popular in rural Zhangye and Jiuquan, Gansu province still, the author try to excavate and sort these sources, then outline the drawbacks of children's literature in the Baojuan. According to the contents of the Baojuan, combined with the characteristic and genre of children's literature, the children's literature was divided into pure children's literature and literature which contains rich sources. The first one contains allegorical stories, ancient mythology, folk legends and history stories. The second is made up of Buddhist and Taoist stories and social life stories.Third, the thesis interrupted ancient Chinese value on children, revealed the social status of ancient children and concluded that children as a ubiquitous part of family and social life, they occupied an important part in the Baojuan, and played a significant role. And the thesis also arranged and analyzed the images of children in the Baojuan to comprehend the individuality and images of children in Hexi folk literature, aimed at expanding some useful discussion on the connotation of Hexi culture.Last, this thesis aims at conclude the practical meaning of study on children's literature and children's images in the Hexi Baojuan. The Baojuan not only provides us raw material on the study of children, but also shows us the background of children's life of that place and that time, which have great meaning on our thorough comprehension of children and on the study of children's literature. The traits of children in the Baojuan, such as respecting the elder and taking care of the younger, being brave, being intelligent and kind present us the personal charm and persistent pursuit of life of those children.Above all, by investigating the children's literature and children's images in the Baojuan, we can have a peak of ancient children's literature, which was created spontaneously and accepted by children. No matter on the contents of these stories or on the form of expression, the Baojuan has great influence on the self development of the children's literature today."Childhood is the beginning of individual life; it is the hope of human beings. No matter in what age and what society, or for what people, children are often connected with hope. Thus they are always regarded as those who need special care." By searching and sorting the children's literature in the Hexi Baojuan, the author hopes that the children's images in the literature can influence and educate the people in our real life so that the children in our life can be specially took care of and they can undertake the responsibility of the hope of human beings.
