Baojuan is a sort of cultural legacy which hasn't been drastically digged.lt is not only a research object of religion,but also a part of the light literature.Baojuan research, which started from the 20s of last century,mostly focuses on two aspects,one is literature research, another one is production analysis.And at the same time it involved the textual research about Baojuan's origin and the exact time when it comed into being. Betwe:en the end of the Ming Dynasty and the start of the Qing Dynasty,Baojuan was introduced into Gansu province with the nongovernmental religion,and gradually evolved into a kind of popular light literature at Jiuquan,Dunhuang.Zhangye and Wuwei in Hexi Corridor region where lacal hoipolloi liked it very much,namely Hexi Baojuan.There are many folktales in Hexi Baojuan,whether their format or their content and narriative way are all similar to Huaben novel which was popular in Song Dynasty. This text illustrates the external presence of this commonness and the cause of its formation by giving a example of thirty pieces of Jiuquan Baojuan which has been packed up and is one part of Hexi Baojuan,it educes a conclusion that Baojuan'inditing should learn from the Huaben novel which had been already very mellow during the Song and Yuan Dynasty. While Buddhism Sujiang endow the essential kernel for the comparability.
