Consume Culture Theory About The Birmingham School

The Birmingham School is a filiation theory of Western Marxism.The members of it is mainly about scholars who worked or studied in The University of Birmingham Centre for Contemporary Culture Studies(CCCS),which is studies about popular culture,culture study.The Birmingham School is a symbol of culture study,through investigating popular culture to reflect after the second world war UK societies'consume culture.This thesis begins with the popular culture study,then dig out and analyze The Birmingham School's consume culture.This thesis is divided into four parts.,The first chapter is an introduction which mainly introduces the paper's study background,purpose and significance,then is the Birmingham School's general situation,finally is current situation of research approaches about comsume cultureThe second chapter is background introduce.Mainly about the history of The Birmingham School,the political origin,,the history background,theory resource.And introduce some concepts like culture,popular culture.The third chapter is this paper's the most important part, base on popular culture study theory,this paper deeply dig out the consume culture of The Birmingham School and introduce some scholars'theory about consume culture and divide into different time.Finallly make a comparison on Frankfurt School.The fourth chapter is the conclusion.author make a simple evaluation about the Birbingham School's theory of consume culture study,and make a summary of how The Birmingham School's theory influence China.
