Townspeople's novel as an aesthetic elements or a kind of novel category, has a certain elements in the literature. In Chinese modern literature, Townspeople's novel has became an important element and attracted to many writers. There appeared many townspeople's novels with local cultural feature such as Beijing taste, Jinmen, Suzhou and Wuhan. The writers in Inner Mongolia did not lack for using the Beijing taste to their novels as an important corner of the contemporary Chinese literature. Feng Lingzhi is the one who is committed to create the Beijing taste in his writings.Feng Lingzhi has keenly caught the townspeople's daily life and their real face. Feng has concentrated on the ordinary people's life and described their true daily life. The character appearing in the townspeople's novels have their unique life and survival skills. Besides, the citizens have their own unique lives and survival skills. They have no social elite ideal and serious political commitment. They pursue economical applicable principle and they pay attention to individual gains and losses, or they run after their ordinary happy life. Feng feels and describes their vitality, sublime and meanness in his writing. He affirms their basic survival needs and the human nature. His writings show the simplest human caring. In the novel creation, Feng Lingzhi inherited lu Xun's exploration of criticism about citizens. The difference from the Lu Xun's is that Feng's novel is not too sharp, but full of jocose tone, which gives the picture of the real life and leaves in the thinking. His works also blended in Lao She's style of writing ordinary people, comedy and tragedy of little persons and are full of the Beijing taste In the process of creating his works, Feng has gradually formed his own writing style of the Beijing taste.In the introduction part, this thesis mainly discusses the Inner Mongolian writer Feng and his writing style. This thesis also writes his influence and status that he made contribution to the Inner Mongolian literary world. In this part, the author defines the term "Beijing taste novel". Finally, this part narrates the present related research about Feng's works.The first chapter combines the skeleton of the Feng Lingzhi's Beijing taste novel. In the different period, there emerges many excellent works between 1980s and 2010s. This article selects the representative works from different period, and tries to dig out the ideological connotation of works. Writers, like Feng Lingzhi, inherit the torch of the "civic literature" from precursors. They continue to write the capital taste and compose the legend in the new period. He is an excellent writer with a unique style in the Inner Mongolian literary world.The second part is the argument of the article. Writers tend to show ordinary old mentality and follow the tradition of nearby. They reflect the ecological situation of the contemporary citizens' lives to reveal the national cultural tradition, the historical evolution, the inheritance and the development. The author thinks that Feng's writing show citizens life from five different aspects. First of all, it is alienated from the politics because of the profound historical and cultural reasons. Ordinary people of the town rely on their own methods to lead their happy life. And because of the political loss, ordinary people are very content with their daily life, such as playing a small role in the town, going in for material comforts and having funs all the time. In order to live in the town or in the city, they have to learn to the civic life knowledge which is for their city life. For writing the townspeople's novel, it has to consider the national characters. Feng Lingzhi's novel explores the national psychology from different perspectives and develops a new way of thinking for the national characters.The third part is from an aesthetic angle. In this section, this thesis concentrates on the Feng Lingzhi's aesthetic achievements with his outstanding viewpoint, the narrative modes, methods for creating the characters and the language features.The conclusion part is to points out the lacking of Feng's Beijing taste novels and summarizes the major findings of this study and illustrates the implications of this research.
