In 1896 June 3(Chinese calendar April 22, Russia calendar May 22), representatives of Russia and Qing dynasty signed "Defensive alliance treaty" in Moscow. The treaty reflected the interests of Tsarist Russia, Japan and western powers about northeast China. This article, basing on the specific historical text, discusses the treaty's background, process and influence.Paper is divided into three parts:introduction, body and conclusion. The first chapter of main part analyses the history background of "Defensive alliance treaty", which includes the adjustment of Russia's Far East policies in 1890s, the conversion of external policies about Qing dynasty after Sino-Japanese War and Japan's external new strategies. Chapter II discusses the treaty's details and the triangulation in the process of treaty signed. Chapter III researches the influence on Russia, Qing dynasty and Japan after the treaty and the changes in Far East.The concluding part notes that International relationships depend on national strength and dynasty interests. Russia, Japan and Qing dynasty performed the foreign policies In accordance with this standard. "Defensive alliance treaty" largely reflects the complex relationship of Russia, Japan and Qing dynasty in the Far East.
