As one of the representative writers of "absurd theater", Eugene Ionesco presented his own understanding of absurd primarily through drama creating. The motifs such as absurd world, missing ego pervaded in Eugene Ionesco's drama. Like other absurd dramatists, Eugene Ionesco attempted to present the absurd facts with the form of absurd drama, and behind these absurd forms there is a deep tragedy thought, which is the unique "tragicomedy" initiated by Eugene Ionesco: Some fantastic effects will be produced in the form by show the absurd reality with the drama form full of fantastic meaning, but when people realize that this absurd reality can not be changed, tragic will be generated. This tragedy is not external to the drama, but involved in the form of banter. The profound tragedy involved in the form of intrinsic absurdity is the most essential characteristic of "tragicomedy". Eugene Ionesco's "tragicomedy" is not only a unique attempt in creation of absurd drama, but also his original understanding of the relationship between art and reality. This paper takes Eugene Ionesco's "tragicomedy" thinking as the main object of study, and tries to comprehensively and thoroughly elucidate Eugene Ionesco's "absurd theatre" and its theory. In the West, Albert Camus, the representative figure of absurd philosophy, discussed absurd the most profoundly. In the book of Myth of Sisyphus, Albert Camus fully discussed his understanding of "absurdity", Eugene Ionesco's "tragicomedy" thinking is rooted in Albert Camus's philosophy of absurd. Like Albert Camus, Eugene Ionesco also recognized the absurdity of the world and the uncertainty of life; he also hoped to interpret "absurd" in his own way. The difference between the two persons is that Albert Camus interpreted "absurd" with the rational philosophy, and Eugene Ionesco chose absurd theater, he showed the contents of absurd with the art form of absurd. In view of the unbreakable bond of the two, therefore, the first chapter of this paper discusses the influence of of Albert Camus's absurd philosophy on Eugene Ionesco "tragicomedy" thought and the distinction between the two so that the philosophical foundation of Eugene Ionesco's "tragicomedy" thought is better understood through comparison."Tragicomedy" is the unique thought of Eugene Ionesco that is generated in his drama creating practice, but its ideological intention is "absurd", so "tragicomedy" also belongs to modern aesthetics and art. It can be said that "tragicomedy" is not only different from the traditional tragedy and comedy, but also different from drama in the general sense, which writes with happiness, and involve sadness in happiness. In view of this, the second chapter mainly discusses the connotation of Eugene Ionesco's "tragicomedy" thinking, and the difference and contact between it and the traditional tragedy and comedy, and then thoroughly exposes and reveals the features of "tragicomedy" thought. The reason why Eugene Ionesco's "absurd theatre" was able to give a deep thinking with the form of absurd is that he took the "tragicomedy" thought as the guide, and applied this unique idea into the creation practice. It can be said that Eugene Ionesco's dramatic works reflects the features of "tragicomedy" thought everywhere. In view of this, this chapter mainly discusses the embodiment of Eugene Ionesco's "tragicomedy" thought in his works, exposes Eugene Ionesco's "tragicomedy" thought more particularly and thoroughly through the combination of theory and practice, and understands Eugene Ionesco's dramatic works better with the starting point of "tragicomedy" thought.
