Working memory is the importance of cognitive function to human beings, it is a memory system of temporary storage and operation of information, it is also the comprehensive capacity to shortly process and maintain information. The level of this ability is closely related to cognitive processing efficiency; It has a direct predictor of work performance. Working memory as a hub of human cognition, attention, emotion, memory strategies and other factors have an important impact on it; Goal-setting and rewards are the two effective ways of arousing motivation, motivate has an important impact on cognitive, then, how the relationship between working memory and motivation is. From the point of motivation, this research attempted to study how goal setting and rewards have an influence on working memory capacity; this study adopted digit working memory span as the measure of indicators to reflect working memory capacity.In order to investigate the impact of motivation on working memory, researchers did two studies. In the first study, experiment of identifying the difficulty of the target. We randomly selected 127 subjects from Xinyang Normal University, Huarui College, and 18-22 years old. The subjects trained their working memory capacity, and then the researcher determined the difficulty of different target. This is to prepare for the following experiments. In the second Study:we used two-factor mixed experimental design to explore the influence of three different difficulty goals and reward on digital working memory capacity, goal-difficulty for the between design, rewards for the within design ways. Difficulty of target is divided into three levels, easy target, secondary target and difficult goal; Reward way is divided into prize and no prize two levels; To check whether the motive was excited, the researchers designed a checking questionnaire to examine whether the motive was excited. In the study, it is with a certain degree of innovation that the combination of target difficulty and reward to investigate what they have an impact on digital working memory capacity. We adopted Spss17.0 to analysis for all the data.The main conclusions are as follows:â‘ Setting the target can expand digital working memory capacity(digital working memory or span). The method of setting goals to provoke motivate is effective; In the certain range, working memory capacity can be improved through training.â‘¡Reward ways had an a relatively significance on the impact, and rewarding can increase the working memory capacity.â‘¢Interactions of different difficulty Goals-Setting and Rewards influencing on working memory capacity is not obvious. In contrast with only setting goals, the integration of setting goal and reward can have a greater impact on working memory capacity; Easy goal, secondary goal and difficulty goal can improve working memory capacity while the digit working memory capacity with such three types of goal is different.
