Visual working memory is an important part of human cognitive system. The individual differences of visual working memory are reflected in two aspects, namely the visual working memory capacity and the precision of visual working memory. The rapid and effective detection of threat stimuli is essential to human survival. The processing of the accuracy and capacity of individuals’ working memory representations of threat stimuli is rarely discussed. At present, the research on the accuracy and capacity of working memory mostly adopts the task of color delay estimation.By fitting the error value of the standard color patch and the color patch selected by the subject on the color ring, the correct response and random selection result can be separately carried out,so as to obtain individual working memory precision and capacity. Therefore,in this study, healthy adult college students as subjects,by using the electrical stimulation and color delay estimation tasks to explore the processing mechanism of individual’s precision and capacity of threatening working memory representation under different memory load conditions. In the first experiment,44 participants were recruited, and threatening and stimulating specific color patches were connected through electrical stimulation connection, and then the color delay estimation task was used to measure the individual’s working memory representation precision and capacity. The experiment adopts the experimental design of 3(memory load: 2,4,6)× 3(stimulus presentation conditions: condition 1,condition 2,condition 3),condition 1 was the baseline condition, and the color squares that appear were all non-electrical stimulation connection colors squares; In condition 2 had two color squares connected to electrical threat stimuli, one of them was the target in the test array, and the other was a non-target;In condition 3 appeared one threat color square and as the target color is in the test array. In the second experiment,48 participants were recruited, and finally 43 were included in the analysis.Similarly, the color delay estimation task was used to measure the individual’s working memory representation precision and capacity after being connected by electrical stimulation. The experiment adopts the experimental design of 3(memory load: 2,4,6)× 3(stimulus presentation conditions: condition 1,condition 2,condition 3).Condition 1 is the baseline condition, that is,no threatening stimulus color squares appear;in condition 2 appeared a threat stimulus color square, and the threat stimulus color square was non-target;In condition 3 had two threat stimulus color squares, and both threat stimulus color blocks were non-target.Combining the above two experiments,it is concluded that:(1)the processing of threat stimulus by individuals were processed in a "full" or "none" manner;(2)When the threat stimulus were not as targets, individuals would use a suppression strategy to improve the working memory precision of the target stimulus. |
