The Intellectuals' Cultural Adaptation And Religious Orientation During The Latter Half Of Ming Dynasty

Wang Zheng is one of the scholar-bureaucrats who has faith in Catholicism in the late of Ming Dynasty. He had made outstanding contributions in the fields of science, technology, military science, linguistics and so on. But many researchs of the past Scholars was focused on his achievements in science and technology, the analysizing of the religious thoughts are somewhat weak comparatively.As a scholar-bureaucrat in the late of Ming Dynasty,who believe in Confucinism and convert to Catholicism, Wang Zheng's religious thoughts account for an important and typical significance in the fields of cultural exchang between China and West. This article based on previous studies, further analysize and dig related historical materials. Then,the writer makes greats efforts to clarify the formation of personal thoughts and the consequent choices of religion for the purpose of deep understanding in cultural exchange.
