When comparing with the relatively closed and scholar dominated circumstances in the past, literary production becomes more integrated to the culture chain and becomes one part of the upstream industry in this modern society with the book industry development, the higher level of popular culture and advanced media technology. The development of cultural industries and prosperity of the book sales illustrates the phenomenon of Chinese popular literature advancing nowadays. "Youth literature" is an important part in Chinese popular literature. In this new century, Chinese "youth literature" enjoys rapid growth with the media's penetration to the daily life, it is very important in China's literature markets."Youth literature" in this new century is used as the research objective to study its production mechanism in this new media era in China. The prosperity and development of youth literature nowadays can be attributed to the following:the first is our time-such a consumer-dominated time, literatures, writers are served as goods in general to present to the consumer; Meanwhile it can be attributed to the new media development, as it has greatly enhanced the production, circulation and consumption space of literature. The relationship between youth Literature and the new media can be described as perfect harmony. Taking above factors, taking "youth literature" as a cultural product of the industrial age, this paper will apply literary sociology and culture study related methods to make specific study of "youth literature" production, circulation and consumption processes, Communication, Publishing and Marxist aesthetics are also used in this paper.Being called literary production, it indicated its goods salient and should be accepted by readers (consumers) through the market. Literary production is consisting of 3 steps:production, circulation and consumption when seeing from the prospective of production mechanism. At present, media, as a concept and actor in communication field, shows greater influence in the step of production, circulation and affected a lot in the consumer's interest and choice. This paper specifically describes the running of 3 steps in "youth literature" production in this new media era.This paper is consisting of four chapters to focus on the 3 steps in "youth literature" production:production, circulation and consumption. The first chapter introduces the approach of new media era, the situation of "youth literature" production in this new media era to lay bedding for the coming study. Chapter 2/3/4 is the core of this paper, these three chapters constitute together to give a detailed analysis to the 3 steps in the "youth literature" production:production, circulation and consumption. All these 3 chapters are linked to the media in order to explore the way of media's penetration to the "youth literature" production. Chapter 2 starts from the prospective of the literary texts generation to study the process of writing, and the booking planning and advocacy organization's influence to the writing process. So the effect of the planning and publicity in Chinese publishing industry to the "youth literature" writer can be concluded in this chapter. The third chapter discusses youth literacy's flow, this means the intermediate process from the writer to the consumer. Three media are used to make the youth literature entered to the consumer:journals, books and internet. The circulation using these three media shares some in common, and also with their own specialty. This chapter studies some representative cases to analyze the way that "youth literature "coming from the writer to consumer and its effect to the writer's writing concept and sales practices. Chapter 4 is focus on youth literature consumption by readers. As the marketization of literary production, the most significant change is the higher status of the reader and they change form the passive recipients to active consumers. Aesthetic value of "youth literature" products always becomes the added value of the consumption, so consumers consume propensity will directly affect writer's writing, publication and publishing. These chapters study the mechanism of youth literature production to discuss the underlying causes and future trends of Chinese booming "youth literature" nowadays, so a more profound understanding to the Chinese "youth literature" phenomenon can be achieved.
