The Study Of A Nation Named Wenmo In Hexi Areas Between Tang And Song Dynasties

Between Tang and Song dynasties,there was a new nation named Wenmo rising in Hexi areas.It was growing up during the conquer war of the Tibetan kingdom in ancient China.For the begining,the word Wenmo was just as a demoting call to the nations which was conquered by the Tibetan kingdom such as Supi,Zhang zhung,Dangxiang,Tuyuhun and the Hans in Hexi areas,etc.In the second half of the ninth century,the Tibetan kingdom declined and lost the control ability of Hexi areas.The people of Wenmo was revolting and breaking away form the Tibetan kingdom.They build a new nation and used the word Wenmo as their national name.The largest number of the Wenmo people was the Hans who was affected deeply by Tibetans.They build their own regime in Liangzhou area when Tang dynesty government was scramble for the control power with the Guiyi Amy.They was called Liangzhou Wenmo and there were so many records of the relationship between Wenmo and Guiyi Amy in the Dunhuang documents.The Wenmo people was disappeared when the Dangxiang people attacked and occupyed Liangzhou area in the begining of Song Dynasty.Therefore,the word Wenmo had two different meanings,one was a demoteing call of some people,another was a nation.
