This thesis concentrates on three parts of Spinoza's doctrine of entity, such as the origin, main content, basic features and the influences on later philosophers, writers and scientists.What Spinoza learned from Descartes is something about the content of Descartes'thought, but the form which equals to the marks he granted to the content is from other places, because it is self-evident to the origination of Spinoza's works. Spinoza did not accept the former philosophers'thought completely. What we can say is that theories of substance before his had influenced him to a certain extent. So the topic of the first part of this article is to discuss the relationship between Spinoza's theory of substance and the ones belong to former philosophers.The second part of this article is the main body. Every aspects of Spinoza's theory of substance show brilliant light of his thought. This second part focuses on the main content and basic characteristics of Spinoza's theory of substance, in which this distinctive nature is the key part of our discussion.Spinoza's doctrine of entity has influenced the later philosophy, literature, sciences and many other fields sufficiently. For one thing, the exploring of Spinoza's doctrine of entity can help us grasping Spinoza's philosophical thought more clearly. For another, it is helpful to outline the train of thoughts belong to those philosophers, writers and scientists which accepted the influence of Spinoza sincerely.
