With the development of foreign language learning, language researchers home and abroad are turning their focuses from the way of teaching to the way of learning, from the teacher to the learner, and from the traditional teaching method to the scientific learning method. Here learning method is the so-called learning strategy. Learning strategies directly affect the process of students'learning and can help students with their second language study. With the concept of autonomic learning being part of the mainstream of research and practice within the field of language education, the study of learning strategies in L2 acquisition has drawn much attention. The study of learning strategies has been an " explosion of activity" in recent years. Although there has been an increasing interest in English major students'learning strategies, there were very few studies on Mongolian English majors'learning strategies. Furthermore, Mongolian English majors are badly in need of improving their English level in order to get more opportunities in future. On the basis of the definitions and classifications of learning strategies given by linguists abroad and home, this thesis mainly adopts the Rebecca Oxford's learning strategy scale and investigates 95 Mongolian English majors in Hulunbuir College to analyze the frequency using of different learning strategies in their studies. The questionnaire survey was used in the study. The written questionnaire is designed on the basis of Rebecca Oxford's design of SILL. SILL stands for strategy inventory for language learning. The questionnaire is composed of two parts:the background information and learning strategies. With the help of the statistical software SPSS10.0, the descriptive statistics such as frequencies and percentages were used to analyze the results.
