The Studies Of Narrative Ethics Of Xuxu's Novels

From 1990s on,Xuxu and his works were renewedly admitted by the history of Chinese mainland literature.His fictions being different from the mainstream of Chinese 20th century literature,contributed to it with its singularity,ethereality and fantasy.And His novels which full of romanticism and modernism did irony to the oddity of 20th century mainland literature.Narrative Ethics was put forward in westward academic sphere from 1990s on.In the end of 20th century,Chinese Liu Xiaofeng responsed Narrative Ethics with his Oppressive Mortal Body,which had aroused wide concern.However,as the method and field of fiction learning, Narrative Ethics Have not shaped its mature theoretics.Based on this reason,this paper aimed at expounding Narrative Ethics and shaping its new theory combining with Xuxu's fiction.The most important thing was to interpret Xuxu's fiction based on Narrative Ethics.Thus,this paper has analyzed the topic with four segments.In the exordium,Xuxu and his novels had been anew surveyed in 20th century Chinese literature,and the general status and character of his fictions had been introduced. Besides,the exordium had defined the connotation of Narrative Ethics,and expatiated the rationality and maneuverability for discussing Xuxu's fictions based on Narrative Ethics.In the last,there is anticipative fruits.In the chapter one, the paper had dissertated Xuxu's novels from the view of individual narrative ethics:individual soul,love ethics and humanity.From this,the paper had looked into Xuxu's life and the reflection of himself into his fictions.In the chapter two,the paper noticing the individual makings of Xuxu's exiling soul, had prospected the detached narrative pose of traversing the visible world and the literal experimentation of imagining death in Xuxu's novels,from the double view of physical and mental exile.Furthermore,the thesis had discussed the transcendent narrative intension and ethical dimension of Xuxu's fictions,and demonstrated the wishful narrative pose of Xuxu's fictions for bakcaming the invisible entity established in the visible world.In the chapter three,the disquisition had dealt with the narrative discourse and its ethical implication in Xuxu's stories,and touched upon the ethic of reader in which the desirability for finding ideal reader in Xuxu's novels had been presented.In the last,the paper had indicated that some of Xuxu'fictions hold the qualities for being classical works via putting it into current literary field, other than just become the material for literary criticism. Founded on that as stated above,this dissertation had finally arrived the result that three kind of interweaved characters of spirit and context had been epurated from Xuxu and his novels:liberalism,exiling mentality, lonely soul.
