The Modern Narrative Features Of XuXu's Novels

Xu Xu is one of the best novelists in the 20th century of modern Chinese literature. The freak is the subject matter of his novel, in style with romantic odd colour. We discuss the narrative features of Xu Xu's novel from three aspects,including narrative time, narrative levels,perspective and narrative structure.Partâ… :Being compared with traditional novel narrative time,there is a large amount of typical flashback and interlaced narrative in time sequence as well as a large amount of equivalent description and slow description in time length of Xu Xu's novel. We find that flashback is the basic narrative strategy which was utilized to narrate a bizarre story. Interlaced narrative is the root cause breaking out traditional narrative barriers to enhance the modernity of text.Equivalent description find expression in the dialogue, which is quite the unique narrative of Xu Xu's novel.
