The Study On Semantic Combination Of The Disyllable Compounds "A+V"

In modern Chinese,the combination of two words is easier to merge into a word. As the connector of morphology and syntax, people do not pay much attention on the combination of"A+V". In this thesis, we are based on monosyllable adjectives, the disyllable compounds"A+V"of《Modern Chinese Dictionary》as the research objects,do research on the semantic compound of this structure. Through the study and analysis of the combination of"A+V", we try to do preparation for computers information processing on Chinese compounds. Full-text is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the preface, introducing the purpose and significance of the topics, the related profiles of the research topics, and the theory, methods, instructions related to the studies.The second chapter proposes the scope and operating principle of the research. First of all, to set the boundaries of"A+V", that is the 165 monosyllable adjectives as point of penetration which collected from Yu Shiwen《Modern Chinese Grammar Information Detailed Explanation》.On this basis ,we determine the prosodic words"A+V"included from《Modern Chinese Dictionary》.Besides of that, the paper definite the structure of"A+V", while excluding Adverb+V which the former is changed from Adjective.Language is an association of form and meaning, the meaning of conjuncts is generated from morpheme meaning within the framework of lexical meaning. Chapter three of the disyllable compounds"A+V"focus on the approach of their generative semantic. And there are differences levels on semantic transparency in three generative semantic ways of the disyllable compounds"A+V".Chapter four is the key point of this paper. The analysis of semantic combination structure within the combination of"A+V"is our research emphases. We must point out that the investigation and study is based on monosyllable adjectives. Through semantic classification among the former Adjective in"A+V", obtain the capacity performance sequence of the adjectives in either strong or weak, and make a brief explanation on capability of its differences. Besides, the study of different semantic relations between the disyllable and compound words"A+V"is reflected by former adjective semantic attribute primarily, which are {situation, way, degree, result, reason, time},six types at all. To sum up that {situation, way} is the obvious semantic relations between disyllable and compound words"A+V", and give the cognitive explanation respectively..The fifth chapter is an investigation about the combination of"A+V"how to evolve into a single word. The compound words"A+V"chunking from same type syntactic structure .Since the influence of disyllabification, the unit monosyllable Adjective and monosyllable Verb which ones always used together ,then chunk into a compound word. Some combination of"A+V"even lexicalized into other lexical category, such as Nouns, Adjectives and so on.The last part is the conclusion part, which is a summary of the contents of this paper. We hope our research could provide some references for the Chinese information processing, and have some practical value.
