This writing derives from author has a long-term learning about piano accompaniment and working practice as a vocal music piano accompanist. In other countries, piano accompaniment is known as the "art direction", andthose related course and theoretical studies become more and more mature. However, from domestic situation, the majority of people in the music and its related industries are quite confused about concept and positioning of piano accompanist. Besides that, they are hardly to grasp the skill for piano accompaniment. In terms of vocal music teaching and stage performance in art institutions, it always happen some accommodating problems caused by them and piano accompaniment. Therefore, based on studying vocal music of the piano accompaniment by predecessors, this writing has made argument and analysis from the three following aspects:firstly, required condition and knowledge of piano accompanist based on their own situation; secondly, artistic effect created by piano accompaniment and song;thirdly, the piano accompanist in the classroom, stage performances and collaborationwith the teachers and students. Meanwhile, this writing tries to locate the piano accompanist in a voice teacher, "collaborators, art director" of artist ina character level, notjust a foil or a simple training partner Piano accompanist in level position.In the first part of the article, the author will explain the fundamental role from the piano accompaniment in the vocal music. Through the development of the piano accompaniment,several role played in the vocal music and some basic quality required by piano accompanist, it has made an initial position on the role of piano accompanist played in the vocal music, which means piano accompanistshould be a collectionofskills, and an essential partner and art directorfor the integrity of the performance of vocal music arts.The second partwill list examples and analyze them from applying methods of piano accompaniment. It will argue that the piano accompaniment in textureand sound aspects play an important rolefor both the haracterization of the song and colors change,also shows piano accompanistits irreplaceableimportance for leading singer emotion and cultivating telepresencein vocal music.The third part will argue again the piano accompanist is positioned as an important partner and artistic director throughpromoting teaching and the role of mutual cooperation with the performers for piano accompanist in vocal music teaching and performing on stage.This address of' art direction of piano accompaniment', have been used two or three decades in China, however, many people are not familiar with them,even have a lot of misunderstanding. The author hopes that through this article, people have a clear understanding and accurate positioning on the piano accompanist, who isthought as an' art director, partner' this ascending level, not a 'foil'. Besides that, since author mainly plays the accompaniment of folk songs, all examples in the article are folk songs.It also hopes that it enables to connect with own major tightly and improve self-quality cultivation on musicin the process of subjectstudy, which arouses attention on details in the course of National Vocal Music Teaching And Accompaniment, and ultimately achieve the purpose of promoting the development of vocal music teaching and do best to contribute development of piano accompanimentteaching.
