With the formation and propulsion of the global village and internationalization, meeting foreigners and talking with them has become an ordinary thing to the contemporary people. Based on this kind of international environment, South Korean Ministry of Education begins to strengthen the education of the second language from the seventh education curriculum. Communication of economy, society and culture between South Korea and China has become more and more, while the position of China in the international community has become higher and higher. A large number of the South Korean realize the necessity of learning Chinese and intend to do so. Compared with several years ago, nowadays the number of junior middle school students who are willing to learn Chinese has increased. But usually they conclude that Chinese is a difficult language, only because they have not fully understood the pronunciation. This thesis aims at helping those students who suffered terribly in the pronunciation period to go through the difficulties of pronunciation successfully. Moreover, so far research in Korea about pronunciation teaching to junior middle school students is few. So I hope this thesis could be beneficial to the research in this respect. The main contents of the thesis are as follows:First describe the significance and general principles of pronunciation teaching briefly in the first chapter; introduce the differences between junior middle school students and the adults on age, level, goal, environment and study time; briefly describe and neaten the theoretical background and general situation of research about pronunciation teaching in South Korea. In chapter two, analyse the section about pronunciation in the Chinese teaching materials used in South Korea now. First, introduce the teaching goal, emphasis and content according to"the Seventh Improve Program of Foreign Language Education, 2007". Then compare the pronunciation section between one kind of teaching material before improvement and thirteen kinds after improvement. By such analysis, discuss the significance of the change on Chinese pronunciation teaching in junior middle school. Questionnaire survey is applied in chapter three, in order to understand student's demand to pronunciation learning. According to the analysis above, present some designs about pronunciation teaching methods, introduce some teaching and correcting methods of pronunciation, and think out various activities in class to junior middle school students.
