When teaching Chinese to the people whose mother tongue is Japanese, the phonetic element is always a difficulty. This is because the phonetic system of the Japanese language is not as complex as the Chinese one. Furthermore, the different pronunciation of most Chinese characters and the corresponding Japanese kanji is another obstacle for the Japanese people to study Chinese. However the ondoku pronunciation of the Japanese kanji is based on the pronunciation of the corresponding Chinese characters in different eras of the ancient Chinese language. So the teachers who teach Chinese to the Japanese people can reduce their difficulties in learning the Chinese phonetic element and strengthen their memory of the pronunciation of the Chinese Characters by comparing the pronunciation of the Chinese characters and the corresponding ondoku of the Japanese kanji. Besides, it can also help the Chinese teaches to teach each phonetic element of the Chinese to the Japanese students. Therefore, we can provide new ideas and advices on teaching Chinese phonetic element to the Japanese people after we studied how the pronunciation of the Japanese kanji reflect the pronunciation of the initials and the finals in Chinese characters.
