Research On Model Artistic Characteristic Of Tianmen Shadow Puppets

The intangible cultural heritage resources of China are as many as the stars in the sky. Tianmen shadow puppet is just one of them. However, because of its special locality and cultural background, it has carried and accumulated the quintessence of Jingchu Culture. Tianmen shadow puppet has mingled different artistic styles of different shadow puppet schools in both South and North China. Therefore, it can be viewed as a specimen of ancient Chu Culture. It is of high research value in terms of its carving techniques, form features, and colourway characteristics. To do a thorough research on a local folk art, and to make a scientific conclusion and analysis on its origin and characteristics are of great importance in maintaining cultural diversity.
