Improvement Of English Intensive Reading Methods

In China, People have attached great importance to English as a foreign language. As to how to improve English learning, domestic scholars have expressed their views and carried out extensive researches. But how to get students recognize their learning problems under teachers'guidance and make corrections through action research, little has been done in this field.The analysis on improving the intensive reading approaches of non-English majors has important practical significance. For students, the research can contribute to the effectiveness of foreign language learning, to promoting students'interest in learning, and for teachers, the research will make them understand the nature of teaching, and the invisible influence of teaching styles on learners, thus deepen their understanding of language teaching, carry out their teaching activities in scientific ways.This thesis aims at finding students'problems in learning styles through their performance assessment and probing how to improve the intensive learning ability of non-English majors. The research methods include questionnaires, statistics, analysis, interviews and classroom observation. Based on the steps of action research, the research lasts 10 weeks. In this thesis, the author takes the course "New Horizon College English" and six classes as the object of study.The thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapter 1 is the introduction of the research, including the background, significance and organization of the research. Chapter 2 is the literature review. Chapter 3 is the design and methodology of present study. Chapter 4 is the action implementation. Chapter 5 is the reflection of the research.
