In Ningbo among the people there is a tradition of investing education. by national independence and own needs, modern Ningbo businessmen inherited the tradition and developed it. With this as background,the Ningbo businessmen established large number of schools and produced a series of unique educational concepts. At the same time, The school's sponsor form have become interestingly diversified. Throughout the whole educational activities, Ningbo businessmen promote the Ningbo education process of modernization powerful, they make a great contribution to the development of education in Ningbo.Employing Marxist Historiography as guide and utilizing historical materialism and dialectical materialism principle, this article mainly adopts both multidisciplinary research method and empirical method, draws on the theoretical results of history, sociology, education, economics, culture and other related subjects, and it closely integrated with Chinese national. this article makes a thorough research and systematic analysis of the school activities of modern Ningbo businessmen. It consists of six chapters as well as introduction and conclusion.Chapter One, The background of modern Ningbo businessmen invest education, introduce the private school have a long history in Ningbo. Up to modern society, grave national crisis cause the merchant class realized that the education can save the nation. Meanwhile, government support for private schools had also encouraged to donate educational activities of businessmen. besides, Ningbo businessmen have solid economic base. In short, various factors lead to Ningbo businessmen run schools.Chapter Two, Modern Ningbo businessmen's education conception, through their own experience, Ningbo businessmen realized the importance of education and talent, they compatible with Chinese and western culture in specific educational activities, the students learn advanced western technology while study the traditional Chinese cultural. As a result, many schools have special way of teaching style.Chapter Three, Modern Ningbo businessmen's survey of run school, divided mainly into three periods introduced, In the late Qing dynasty, the schools are mainly used for donors'own children. In the Republic of China, the educate range become wider, there were lots of businessmen formed schools and the modern schools were increased quickly. The primary schools,secondary schools and vocational schools became the majority in the education system. Meanwhile, the businessmen set up scholarship to support the poverty students. During the war of resistance, some Ningbo businessmen had to turning capital investment into a real investment for their schools.Chapter Four, Modern Ningbo businessmen's sponsor form of school, It include mandate to someone and take part in the whole school affair. Ningbo businessmen provide adequate funding through different forms and add their own education conception to these activities.Chapter Five, Case studies: Take Qin Runqing as an example, the educational activities of Qin Runqing has being taken as the main target of the research, the article individually reviewed the primary, the secondary and the orphanage that all run by Qin Runqing. It shows the role and position of modern Ningbo businessmen in the modernization of Ningbo education.Chapter Six, Modern Ningbo businessmens'educational activities and the modernization of Ningbo education. The conclusion part analyzes the influence and significance of modern Ningbo businessmen's educational activities.
