At the beginning of the 20 th century,China was still in a difficult situation of internal and external affairs,and the national crisis was serious.how to save the nation became the strongest voice of the times.From the beginning of " rejuvenating the country through industry" to " saving the country through education"-many people of insight realize the value and significance of education and act actively.This is especially true in Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions where the economy and culture are relatively developed and deeply influenced by foreign cultures.Ningbo education association came into being.in 1905,it was founded by local gentry such as Zhang meiyi and Chen Xun-Zheng and new intellectuals,trying to promote the development of education with the strength of the group.Since then until the 1940 s,Ningbo education association has been very active,especially in the late Qing dynasty and the early Republic of China period,Ningbo education association played a very important role in the process of educational modernization in Ningbo,is an important organizer and participants of educational modernization in Ningbo at that time.Limited to historical materials,this paper mainly takes the activities of Ningbo local education association in 1920 s as an example to analyze its status and role in the process of educational modernization in Ningbo.Specifically divided into three aspects,first of all,the social and historical background,development and evolution of Ningbo education association,as well as its organizational form and expenditure of funds;Secondly,it analyzes the main activities of Ningbo education association,and expounds the specific role and influence of Ningbo education association on the modernization of Ningbo education by investigating its financing to set up schools,vigorously cultivating teachers,standardizing and unifying teaching elements,advocating and developing social education and vigorously spreading new educational ideas and methods.Finally,the paper summarizes the important role of Ningbo education association in the modernization of Ningbo society.The development and progress of modern education in Ningbo is remarkable,and in this process,the education meeting established in Ningbo in the late Qing dynasty and the early Republic of China played an important role and played a very positive role.It can be said that Ningbo education association is the organizer and implementer of educational modernization in Ningbo.Education association is undoubtedly an important link to understand modern Ningbo education,but also a key to further study the modernization of Ningbo education.
