This paper is the book review of the latest monograph Song Writing which comprehensively explores the forth technique in music therapy, and also contains clinical cases made by myself in Huilongguan Hospital. The whole paper is composed by introduction, part one and part two.The introduction part includes the problems-posed, appearance of the Songwriting and introduction of the editor and author of this book.Through analyzing the method and technology in songwriting and successful cases mentioned in this book, part one stated that the songwriting therapy as a new treatment method has its unique irreplaceable advantage, compared with traditional practices commonly used by many music therapists. Songwriting provides a new environment with clients, and those produced songs can not only make self expression possible, but also make them to remember and touch those frozen memory and relationship. Songwriting creates such a new entertainment-mode atmosphere in which clients can explore their life, potentiality, lose and longing. With safety and effect, songs can accompany with music healer for all his/her life, and also help to build effective doctor-patient relationship. More important, songs can give clients precious opportunity of happiness.According to the viewpoint and method extracted from chapter five Collaboration on Songwriting with Clients with Mental Health Problems, part two is clinical cases made in Huilongguan Hospital by myself. Using the ideas and experience in this book, I recognized that therapists should encourage patients to remember their good time in the past and improve their peak experience, which can promote the mental health of patients;we also can take patient's peak experience as a breakthrough point and let them write songs in order to remind their good time. Those songs can become permanent material and can be taken out to read and aftertaste any time.
